| All
of the workshops offered by Theater
of the Soul are based on the recipe for the
BodySoul Rhythms intensives
created by the Jungian analyst Marion Woodman, body movement specialist
Mary Hamilton and voice specialist Ann Skinner. As with any recipe,
each
batch of the offerings that are prepared will vary with the
techniques of those who are doing the cooking, and the tastes of those
for whom the recipe is intended. We invite
you to sample the offerings on our Theater
of the Soul menu, and to find the one
that best fits your tastes and needs.
We offer workshops
in the following formats:

About
the evening-and-a-day workshop: |
Our evening-and-a-day
workshop is a program of a consecutive evening and a day, such as
Friday evening from 7 to 10 PM and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 5 PM.
On Friday evening, we will offer a blend of storytelling, gentle movement,
and guided meditation, all of which are designed to introduce you
to the dialogue that is possible between body and spirit when we employ
the soul-languages of imagery and sensation. On Saturday morning,
we will facilitate a session of dreamwork, in which we will address
body symptoms as well as nighttime dreams, enabling you to further
explore the relationship between your body and your spirit on the
soul¹s creative stage. On Saturday afternoon, we will lead you
through some exercises in voice-play, gentle movement, and embodied
meditation, whose synthesis you will manifest in artwork at the end
of the day. You will leave this workshop with a deeper awareness of
the wealth of meaning that is available in your dreams and body symptoms,
and a felt sense of the comfort and creativity that awaits you in
the theater of your soul.

About
the one week intensive: |
| This weeklong
intensive follows most closely the program developed by Marion Woodman,
Mary Hamilton and Ann Skinner in their BodySoul Rhythms intensives.
Each morning, we will use dreamwork, storytelling, and some lecture
material to explore with you the creative relationship that is possible
between body and spirit when we improvise on the soul's alchemical
stage. Every afternoon, you will be guided through a series of gentle
experiences in movement, voice and expressive art-play, with the goal
of continuing the morning's soul-dialogue between your spirit and
your body. Throughout the week, the evenings will be devoted to your
creation of a mask that will serve as a synthesizing symbol of your
growing ability to integrate body and spirit into soul. The mask you
create will be yours to keep and work with, to integrate into your
life as a living symbol of your creative soul-work at this intensive. |

About
custom workshops and intensives: |
| We are happy
to work with organizers who would like to offer our work in a format
that is not specified above. If you know a group of women who would
like to experience a Theater of the Soul workshop, and
whose needs do not fit into the models we have described, please feel
free to contact us and we would be delighted to custom-design an intensive
or a workshop to meet your needs! |
